Medical Director of Waterstone Clinic. Dr John Waterstone has devoted his life to women’s health and fertility in the pursuit of parenthood for his patients. He has been the leader of many important milestones for reproductive medicine in Ireland.
Dr Waterstone established Waterstone Clinic (formerly Cork Fertility Centre) in 2002. The Centre has since expanded nationally, with additional clinics in Dublin, Limerick and Waterford. Dr Waterstone prides himself in being at the forefront of Assisted Reproduction in Ireland. He and his team are known internationally and collaborate with top clinics in the USA, UK, Spain and Cyprus. He has led the introduction of new fertility techniques to Ireland, many of which have become standard practice.
Dr Waterstone was the first to deliver the first babies born following Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) treatments; Pre-implantation Genetic Screening (PGS); and Microsurgical Testicular Sperm Extraction (MicroTESE). Dr Waterstone’s clinic was the first Irish clinic to implement routine blastocyst culturing, paving the way for elective single embryo transfer, and the clinic was also the first to successfully use vitrification for embryo cryopreservation which improves the viability of frozen embryos.
Dr Waterstone’s career began in both the Science Faculty (Genetics) and Medical School of Trinity College Dublin, before moving to the Rotunda Hospital, Dublin. Dr Waterstone trained in Obstetrics & Gynaecology before continuing his training and teaching hospitals in London. He is committed to leading innovation in Reproductive Medicine in Ireland.
DR AHMED OMAR
Dr Omar is recognised as a leading authority in reproductive medicine throughout Ireland and the UK. He brings extensive experience to his role of Medical Director at Beacon CARE Fertility and his in-depth knowledge and focus on results complements the other members of the team in delivering the highest quality and most advanced fertility treatments for patients.
He graduated from Ain Shams University, Cairo in 1988 and undertook further training in Europe. He has been a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists since 1998 and is a Member of the Royal Society of Medicine (Ireland) and a Member of the British Fertility Society.
His sub-specialty training in IVF and reproductive medicine was carried out at the Assisted Reproduction & Gynaecology Centre in London. He was Deputy Medical Director of SIMS IVF where he helped to establish the clinic’s programmes in the areas of reproductive immunology and management of recurrent pregnancy loss.
Areas of special interest include: Pre-implantation Genetic Screening and Diagnosis (PGT-M and PGT-SR), Recurrent Implantation Failure and Reproductive Immunology.
DR MARTA MOSHETTA
Dr Moschetta graduated in 2004 from the University of Milan. She completed her training in obstetrics and gynaecology at the Mangiagalli Hospital in Milan, becoming a specialist in Prenatal Diagnosis.
In 2009 she moved to Spain, where she worked for three years in the Tambre Clinic and in 2012, obtained a Master's Degree in Human Reproduction at the University Complutense of Madrid.
In 2013 she started working in the Procreatec International Clinic and Juaneda Hospital as a gynaecologist and fertility specialist.
She has also completed Pro Bono work in developing countries
She is widely regarded as being both compassionate and caring. Her awareness of the emotional difficulties women and couples face when embarking on or going through fertility treatment has led her to pursue a Masters in Life-Coaching.
She firmly believes that there is a strong connection between mind and body therefore, when she takes care of patients, she tries to focus on both.
She is passionate about recurrent miscarriage, and implantation failure, so is always striving to expand her knowledge of the cause of that, which leads her to incorporate a wider variety of diagnostic tests.

DR SHANDEEP MOMI
Dr. Shandeep Momi was born in Canada, raised in the United States and went to medical school in Hungary. He completed GP training in the UK now practices in Dublin.
During his medical journey, he has learned different skills from outside of conventional medicine to help his patients have a better quality of life. It is this lateral thinking and problem solving skill that he brings to bear to help his patients achieve more with their life.
His family’s Hashimoto’s diagnosis turned his attention toward applying this integrative and functional medicine method to help them. Dr. Lyuda Shkrobot earned her Medical Degree at Vinnitsa State Medical University and specialized in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her passion is in helping women with fertility issues including women with immunological problems in pregnancy.

Dr Tim Dineen is a founding member of Waterstone Clinic and is the Director of Compliance for Waterstone Clinic. Dr Dineen is an ESHRE-certified Senior Clinical Embryologist and manages regulatory compliance, leading their quality team.

Helena Tubridy dove into general nursing and specialised in Gynaecology. Followed midwifery in the UK, delivering babies babies in hospital, Domino and community settings. Home births and breech deliveries. She trained in hypnosis for labour pain, and many mums chose it over epidural! She worked with Dr. Jack Gibson to specialise in hypnotherapy.

GRAHAM COULL
Graham Coull has a wealth of experience and has been with the Sims team for nearly 20 years. Graham graduated with joint honours in genetics and immunology from the University of Aberdeen in 1995. He then went on to become a research assistant at the university, studying embryology in ruminant and non-ruminant species. In 1999 Graham moved to Sweden to take up the position as clinical embryologist at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Gothenburg. There he trained in ICSI and became the main ICSI practitioner for the clinic. In 2001 Graham moved back to the UK and became clinical embryologist at the Esperance Hospital in Eastbourne where he became HFEA ICSI licensed.
Graham joined the team at Sims as a senior embryologist in October 2003 and later became Group Scientific Director. He assists in the continued success of the Sims fertility programme.
jEMMA HENRY RD
Jemma Henry is a CORU Registered Dietitian, qualified since 2007, with extensive experience in both the NHS and HSE. After encountering a lack of reliable and accurate fertility nutrition information during her own IVF journey, Jemma pivoted her career to specialise in fertility and IVF nutrition.
In 2022, she founded Nourish My Fertility, an online nutrition practice dedicated to helping individuals and couples optimise their fertility through evidence-based nutrition and lifestyle advice. Deborah Brock is founder and CEO of Nua Fertility, an award-winning start-up that supports fertility through research-based product development. Inspired by a personal experience, Deborah’s mission is to highlight the importance of the microbiome and its impact on bodies, health, and fertility for both men and women.
Deborah was introduced to Furthr in 2019 after an initial engagement with the Enterprise Ireland start-up division. Like most start-ups in specialised areas like fertility and health, Nua Fertility came up against many roadblocks. Frances Sinclair
Frances Sinclair is responsible for Operations and Stakeholder Engagement at Donor Conception Network, a parent-led, child-focused charity that supports people considering donor conception, as well as parents (and increasingly, grandparents) with donor conceived children already.
The charity was founded 30 years ago by five families who – against clinical advice at the time – wanted to be open-up to their children about their origins and to help others looking for information and community. Through peer support, the charity aims to break the isolation many people feel when navigating their personal, often emotional, fertility journey. Frances and the rest of the DCN team, along with a group of dedicated volunteers, offer personal, tailored support and connection both in-person and online. The charity also publishes books and runs workshops and aims to be a much-needed voice for donor conception families more widely.
Frances is herself a solo mum through donation – her son is now 17. She became a Network member just a few years after it started and later became a volunteer ‘welcomer’. Kate Curtis
Kate Curtis is passionate about her work in holistic health and she became interested in alternative forms of pain relief in labour whilst working as a midwife in the 80’s and 90s. She later qualified in Reflexology, (1989) Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture(1994) and later in Western herbalism (2008) and Chinese patent herbal medicine. She did her internship in one of the Nanjing University hospitals in China.
Kate has studied in Ireland, China, UK, and USA in various post graduate programmes. She also works with a strong emphasis on the psycho spiritual and emotional aspect to each individual and has always been interested in how the mind body and soul are all totally interconnected. How stress, fear, shock and trauma can effect the immune and hormonal systems in various ways.

Dr. Ernesto Vázquez Hidalgo, is a senior consultant with the ReproMed Galway Team with 18 years working in women’s health, and 13 years in reproductive medicine and minimally invasive gynaecological surgery.
He studied medicine at the University of de Carabobo in Valencia City, Venezuela, and then obtained a Degree as Obstetrician & Gynaecology. In 2006 after exploring different areas of interest in ObGyn, he decided to enrol in the Advanced Endoscopic Gynaecologic Surgery Master Degree Program offered by the prestigious IVI (Instituto Valenciano de Infertilidad) and University of Valencia in Spain, focusing his interest mainly in Reproductive Surgery.
He developed most of his professional experience in the Venezuelan Institute of Fertility, where he became a member of the Board of Directors, as well as Head of the Endoscopic Surgery Department, and also a Consultant in the Department of Reproductive Medicine. Later he returned to Spain where he served as a Senior Consultant in two fast-growing Fertility Clinics in Catalonia, Spain, Eva Fertility Clinic and Procrear Fertility Clinic, for more than four years.
Dr. Ernesto believes in an honest and trusting doctor-patient relationship. He thinks that working together aids in making an optimum analysis to improve the success rate of a fertility treatment. He likes to listen to his patients and is always available to help with whatever is necessary.
BARBARA SCOTT
Barbara Scott is Chair of The Association of Reproductive Reflexologists, founder of Seren Natural Fertility and author of Reflexology for Fertility, published in 2016.
In 2017, she was awarded ‘Complementary Therapist of the Year’ by the Federation of Holistic Therapists and has been nominated for several awards within the field of complementary therapy. In 2019 she was awarded the Innovation in Reflexology Award by the Association of Reflexologists. Barbara speaks and lectures globally on her integrative approach to supporting couples having difficulties conceiving. She has spoken at many of the Fertility Shows and Fertility Fest.

She has done extensive Post Graduate Training in this area since 2003 and studied with many of the pioneering TCM and integrative practitioners in this area. In addition to providing general counselling and psychotherapy, she is also a specialist in reproductive health and actively advocates for reproductive and sexual health for all. Anna’s parents struggled for many years with infertility she was finally born. “When my mother went into premature labour for me at 20 weeks my aunt offered to carry a pregnancy for them. June Flood (BSc, HDip, RGM, RM) studied General Nursing in Tralee Co Kerry where she gained her National Diploma in Gen Nursing in 2004 followed by her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2005.
June worked as a General Nurse until commencing her Higher Diploma in Midwifery at The National Maternity Hospital, Holles Street in Dublin in 2005 and qualified in 2007. She continued to work there until moving in March 2010 to work as a Midwife in the labour and delivery unit of KAMC-National Guard hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
After four years in Saudi Arabia June moved back to Ireland along with her partner Mhairi in 2014. After working in agency nursing and midwifery for a few months she commenced work in General Practice, where all aspects of her experience were valuable.
In 2018 she started working with the Irish Family Planning Association (IFPA), where her passion for women’s health and well-being was really highlighted, from cervical screening to fertility guidance and support, this was a wonderful opportunity to gain experience and knowledge in this area.
While working at a GP surgery she also completed some valuable knowledge through courses such as the Cervical screening course with the RCSI.

DR BART KUCZERA
Bart Kuczera studied medicine in Poland and graduated from the Medical University of Silesia in 1999. He attended the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in London as part of his reproductive medicine sub-speciality training.
In the early days of his career, Dr Kuczera combined his interest in theoretical medicine and clinical practice. After obtaining his specialist qualification, he practised in the Department of Gynaecological Oncology whilst lecturing human anatomy to medical students until 2010.
In parallel to his consultant position in reproductive endocrinology, he has held a number of Consultant positions in the area of fertility including Acting Clinical Director at ZentraLab and the Sims Clinic, Dublin from 2011 –2013.
Dr Kuczera’s special interests in fertility include: Premature Ovarian Ageing, Male Factor Infertility, Endometriosis, Embryo Implantation and psychosexual fertility issues and Pre-implantation Screening.
Frances Fitzgerald Former MEP
Frances Fitzgerald is a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for Dublin City and County and a Vice-President of the EPP Group in the European Parliament.
Prior to her election to the European Parliament in 2019, Frances served as a Fine Gael Parliamentarian for over 20 years. She served as a Senator and T.D. in Dublin Mid-West (2007-2019) and has previously served as a Fine Gael T.D. in Dublin South East (1992-2002).

Prof. MARY WINGFIELD
Professor Wingfield is Clinical Lead for AHR services at the National Women and Infant’s Health Program of the HSE. She graduated in Medicine from Trinity College Dublin and trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Ireland, the UK and Melbourne.
She spent 3 years at Monash IVF and Monash University, Melbourne and was awarded an MD for her research there on endometriosis. Professor Wingfield worked for almost 30 years as a Consultant Obstetrician Gynaecologist at the National Maternity Hospital, Dublin where she established Merrion Merrion Fertility Clinic in 1999. She is Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at University College Dublin. She was a founding member and past President of the Irish Fertility Society and served on the government-appointed Commission on Assisted Human Reproduction.
Professor Wingfield has written several fertility-related position papers for the Institute of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, has acted as an expert witness in High Court cases regarding assisted reproduction and has spoken at the Oireachtas regarding AHR legislation and surrogacy. She authored The Fertility Handbook, Gill Press 2017, a guide to fertility and infertility. Throughout her career she has been interested in subfertility in all its facets, including the development of national frameworks and legislation, equitable access to fertility treatment, fertility preservation, endometriosis and implantation.

During this time Gordon was presented with multiple cases of ‘Infertility’. After successfully treating these cases of defined and often unexplained infertility, Gordon began his search for answers to explain the causes that prevent almost one in five couples in Ireland from conceiving.
Gordon is now a Charter member of the ‘Clinical Excellence in Fertility Professionals Association’ with Dr Randine Lewis, a trained Acupuncturist under the guidance of ‘Zita West’ and a student of Jeffrey Yuen, NY. Gordon is also registered with the Acupuncture Foundation Professional Association at www.afpa.ie.
CAITRíONA FITZPATRICK
Caitríona is the Chairperson of the National Infertility Charity NISIG which provides support to people and advocates for those on all stages of their fertility journey. She is also the National Operations Manager at SHINE, a charity that works at the heart of mental ill health in Ireland.
She is currently undertaking a Doctorate in Social Studies at Maynooth University with a particular emphasis on gender considerations in public policy making. Previously worked as Managing Director at an International Public Affairs and Communications consultancy Penta. Prior to that spent over a decade working in Irish politics as a Special Advisor to a Government Minister covering four Departments and have extensive experience in government affairs, crisis communications, political strategy, stakeholder management and media relations.
NISIG (National Infertility Support and Information Group) is the only charity working in the area of fertility support/ART for 26 years, including support meetings, resources, and advocacy- in particular around the AHR legislation.
Gareth Landy
Growing up, Gareth didn't think about his genetic makeup. It wasn't until he and his wife decided to have a family that he learned how an extra X chromosome would impact their plans. In his talk, Gareth will speak about XXY, its impact on male fertility, his experience of going through fertility treatment and donor conception and how it feels to be a father to twins.
Since March 2021, Gareth has recorded over 40 interviews across several continents speaking about male infertility. In 2023 he started 'The M & M Show' on Instagram with two other infertile men, as well as delivering the first ever TED Talk exclusively about XXY.
Gareth is an official advocate for 'The Living with XXY' nonprofit organisation based in California. He is also very proud to be an ambassador for 'IVF Babble', the 'Donor Conception Network' and the Irish National Infertility Support and Information Group (NISIG).
DR Phil Boyle
Dr. Phil Boyle, MB BCh NUI, MICGP, MRCGP,
Dr Phil Boyle is Founder and Director of the NeoFertility Clinic, Dublin, Ireland. He is Co-founder of the innovative fertility charting app Chart Neo, which is integral to fertility testing and treatment through his practice.
Dr Boyle has over 25 years clinical experience with subfertility – over 3,000 successful pregnancies, many of which after years of infertility, previous failed IVF, and repeated miscarriage. He has a special interest in new and innovative solutions for infertility and recurrent miscarriage, looking for root causes, to help couples conceive without IUI or IVF.
Dr Phil Boyle is currently president of the International Institute for Restorative Reproductive Medicine and is actively involved in research, recently publishing a landmark paper on using DHEA treatment during pregnancy to reduce the risk of miscarriage and improve pregnancy outcome.

GERALDINE EMERSON
Geraldine Emerson is a versatile and accomplished Lab Director /Lab Quality Director. With over 30 years’ experience in Assisted Reproduction Technology in the UK, UAE, Ireland, Romania and Iraq. She shows leadership through willingness to adopt and promote positive change within IVF Laboratories. Gerri is a Diplomat of the Royal College of Pathologists UK since 2010. She was a supervisor and assessor for the association of clinical embryologists UK, past Vice President of the Irish Fertility Society (IFS), a founding member and past chair of the Irish Clinical Embryologist society (ICE). She has published work in peer reviewed journals and presented at many national and international conferences
Geraldine is a certified Snr Embryologist and a member of the European Society of Human Reproduction (ESHRE). She has previously held the post of the Irish Scientific representative to ESHRE.
Her interests are in IVF laboratory Total Quality Management, Patient Safety, Cryopreservation, Male Factor Infertility and the continuous professional development of all IVF Laboratory staff.
